Intersection Upgrades 60% Complete

As part of the Capital Acceleration Plan, we’ve expedited Green Line and Mattapan Line intersection upgrades to bring you a safer, more reliable MBTA experience.
We’re on schedule to complete the intersection upgrades 5 months earlier than originally planned.
As of September 2019, we've replaced 4,388 feet of track, and intersection upgrades are 60% complete:
We’re upgrading 16 intersections on the B Line along Commonwealth Avenue. Completed intersections are designated with a :

- St. Paul Street
- Pleasant Street
- Harry Agganis Way
- Babcock Street
- Harvard Ave
- Summit Ave
- Washington Street
- Colborne Road
- Kinross Road/Wallingford Road
- Chiswick Road
- Strathmore Road
- Chestnut Hill Driveway
- South Street
- Lake Street
- Commonwealth Avenue (near Fr. Herlihy Drive)
We’re upgrading 13 intersections on the C Line along Beacon Street. Completed intersections are designated with a :
- Carlton Street
- Hawes Street
- Kent Street
- St. Paul Street
- Winchester Street (vehicle intersection)
- Winchester Street (pedestrian crossing)
- Marion Street
- Summit Path (pedestrian crossing)
- Tappan Street
- Westbourne Terrace
- Washington Street
- Winthrop Road
- Englewood Avenue
We’re upgrading 1 intersection on the Mattapan Line:
- Central Avenue, Milton

As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
