MBTA Announces January Service Changes

Weekend service changes will take place on the Orange Line as well as the Newburyport/Rockport and Haverhill Commuter Rail lines to accommodate MassDOT’s Maffa Way/Mystic Avenue Bridge Superstructure Replacements project. Weekend service changes will also take place on the Silver Line for South Station drainage improvements and on the Red Line for signal upgrades.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) hosted a Route 104 ride along today to celebrate the launch of the Bus Network Redesign (BNR) Phase One, which officially went into effect December 15.

REMINDER: Phase 1 of Bus Network Redesign Launches this Sunday, December 15, Bringing More Frequent Service and Better Routes

Phase 1 will affect six bus routes where service will increase by 60%. Four Frequent Bus Routes will operate every 15 minutes or better. MBTA staff will be at key bus stops and stations through December 20 to assist riders with information and support.

MBTA Celebrates 24th Annual Fill-A-Bus with Gifts Event

The 24th Annual Fill-A-Bus with Gifts is sponsored by the MBTA and MassDOT with toys provided to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, the Boys and Girls Club of Boston, and Heading Home. This year, MBTA and MassDOT employees donated 2,651 gifts – the highest-ever toy count for the Fill-A-Bus gift drive.

REMINDER: Final Track Improvement Program Service Suspension: Green Line Service Suspended Between Park Street and Union Square / Medford/Tufts December 6 – 20

When this service suspension is complete, the entire subway system will be free of slow zones. This notice serves as a reminder of the upcoming Green Line closure previously announced on November 15.
