First 9 Days of Full Access Closure Completed
Updated on June 22, 2021
From June 12-20, we shut down the Green Line D Branch between Riverside and Fenway to accelerate work on the Green Line D Track and Signal Replacement Project. During the full access closure, crews were able to bring the overall D Branch Track and Signal project completion to 92%.
This work will improve safety and reliability on the Green Line.
What We Did: June 12-20, 2021
Accelerating this project allows us to complete the most disruptive trackwork months earlier. After 9 days of full access to the D Branch:
- Trackwork is 96% complete.
- Special trackwork is 85% complete.
- Catenary Pole Foundations are 96% complete.
- Overall, D Branch Track and Signal project work is 92% complete.
Regular Green Line service resumed as planned on June 21 and will operate through June 23 with shuttles from 8:45 PM to end of service.
We will continue to accelerate the project with another 9-day full access closure from June 24 to July 2.
